The Witcher: Legacy board game is set to arrive next summer 2027 and pre-orders are already open! Designed as a large-scale campaign and narrative experience available in multiple versions. The game will also include a free narration app to accompany you and your friends through the 48+ hours of the main campaign.

The Witcher: Legacy Board Game, Everything We Know

This new witcher adventure is going to be a narrative-driven board game. Players will take on the roles of iconic witchers as they investigate a conspiracy surrounding the sacking of the School of the Wolf. 

The action is built around a campaign in which every choice players make and every event they experience, will shape their journey. The main campaign alone is expected to take more than 48 hours to complete. Discovering everything hidden within the game and every side quest, could take over 100 hours. The game also contains a free narration app that provides additional storytelling and audio narration throughout the campaign.

Multiple editions await you 

The board game will be available in multiple editions. The campaign offers nine different versions, ranging from the entry-level edition to increasingly elaborate bundles containing additional game content, upgraded components, collectibles, and other extras. These variations make the campaign particularly interesting for collectors, as the higher editions are designed to offer substantially more than the core game. 

Pre-Orders Already Available 

Although The Witcher: Legacy is scheduled to arrive next summer 2027, pre-orders are already open through the Gamefound campaign. A pre-order campaign around the different versions, allowing players to choose the game that best matches the player’s preferred level of content and extras.

The Witcher: The Adventure Card Game (2007)

The Witcher: The Adventure Card Game is a board game based on the novels by Andrzej Sapkowski and the video game saga. In this board game, players take on the role of people that hire the services of Geralt, the witcher, to kill monsters. The players complete contracts, overcome dangers and collect valuable resources.

This game has a system of victory points. Players must succeed and make effective use of the special abilities of Geralt’s friends, while collecting Attack Cards, Event Cards, and Gold. By completing monster-hunting contracts and achieving objectives during the game you’ll end victory points.

The Witcher Adventure game (2014)

Players delve into the world of The Witcher, taking on the roles of the witcher Geralt of Rivia, the bard Jaskier, the sorceress Triss Merigold and the dwarf Yarpen Zigrin. In The Witcher Adventure Game, players compete by completing quests or slaying monsters along the way in order to earn points and secure victory. It is an asymmetrical board game in which each character has their own unique abilities and deck of cards. Depending on their playing style, a player may choose to use diplomacy, strength or magic.

The Witcher Adventure game has also a digital adaptation. In this game you can play multiplayer or versus an AI if you are playing alone. 

The Witcher: Old World (2023)

Players take on the role of witchers in the legendary universe of The Witcher. Set years before the Geralt of Rivia saga. The Witcher: Old World explores an era when monsters roamed the Continent, posing a constant threat that required the intervention of specially trained monster hunters. 

Five rival schools trained their disciples set out to explore the land, seeking trouble and adventure, and helping others in exchange for money. In this adventure board game, players travel across the map, embark on quests, face ambiguous moral dilemmas, battle monsters and, on occasion, clash with other witchers to defend the honour of their school.

Each player builds their own unique deck of cards by choosing from a wide range of abilities: attacks, dodges and warlock combat magic, known as ‘signs’. Through combinations of cards, players aim to achieve powerful combos whilst making the most of the signature abilities of their school. To win, a player must collect between 4 and 6 trophies depending on the quantity set at the start of the game. To earn trophies players can defeat monsters, win pub brawls against another witcher, training and completing missions.

The Witcher Path of Destiny (2025)

The Witcher Path of Destiny is a competitive board game in which the players take the roles of the iconic characters of the series. The Characters available are: Geralt, Yennefer, Ciri, Vesemir, or Dandelion. Players must use their characters’ abilities, gather resources, overcome challenges, and compete with one another to achieve their goals. The playthrough combines storytelling, strategic decision-making, character abilities, and competitive gameplay. This allows plays to experience familiar Witcher adventures while creating their own version of each story.

You’ll use your character abilities and cards to overcome challenges and influence the story. Successful actions and complete objectives will award you with Destiny Points. The player with the most Destiny Points wins the game. 

A Whole Universe That Branches Out Into Different Ways Of Playing

Whether you are a witcher video game fan or a fan of the original books, these board games offer a chance  to explore the Continent from an entirely different perspective. Each one brings its own way of playing, inviting you to relive familiar stories and discover new adventures of The Witcher beyond screen or page.
