Villainous is an asymmetric board game for two to six players. Each player takes the role of a Disney villain with their own abilities, special actions and objectives during the game. Every main game and spinoff game of this franchise has their own selection of villains to play. This makes every game different, depending not only on the villain you choose, but also the main game you have.
However, this Disney board game also has many expansions to play with new different villains. Each expansion is meant to play either with one of the two main board games or one of the expansions. Disney Villainous: The Worst Takes It All

The Worst Takes It all was the first board game of the series to be published. Winner of the 2019 TOTY award, contains six Disney villains to play as. Each Villain has a unique objective and special abilities. Although this is a competitive board game, each player works independently to fulfill their unique story-based victory objective.

Game Overview
Each villain has their own board representing their realm with different scenarios. The villain deck from where you’ll draw cards and play from, to reach your villain’s objective. In addition, there is a fate deck from where your opponents will draw and play from to hinder your progress.
Your objective is to full fill your villains objective. In order to accomplish it you’ll need to move your villain token between realms to perform actions to gain power, activate abilities, or vanquish heroes.
Now, we’ve stated that it is a competitive board game and, like in other competitive board games, your opponents can sabotage your strategies. To use the fate card deck choose a n opponent and reveal two cards from their fate deck. Pick one and discard the other card. You can decide how to use the fate card’s ability against your opponent.
Disney Villainous: Introduction to Evil

Introduction to Evil is a simplified starter version of the original main board game. It does not differ in mechanics from the original game, however, it makes it easier for new players.
The basic rules and mechanics are the same as the first edition of the Vilainous board game. Players choose a villain, with its own realm board, villain and fate decks. The turn mechanics also remain as the original game. However, it simplifies certain rules and card interactions for beginners. It reduces the complexity in the set up and gameplay, and villain objectives are more accessible and have fewer complicated mechanics to achieve them.
💡This would be the perfect version of the game to play with family members, elders and younger players.

Marvel Villainous: Infinite Power

Infinite Power is the Marvel spin-off of the game series released in 2020. This game is a Stand alone edition of the game series, in which players take the role of iconic marvel villains. The core mechanics are still the same as the main and the simplified version of the game. All the same, it introduces a more interconnected and interactive system, and adds new mechanics likes:
- Shared fate deck for all players rather than individual ones.
- Events.
- Speciality Cards.
Marvel Villainous adapts the classic game system to the marvel universe and introduces more tactical mechanics, and a new interactive experience.

Star Wars Villainous: Power of the Dark Side

Power of the Dark Side is the Star Wars spin-off of the game series, released in 2022. This Spin-off is a stand alone game that cannot be combined with neither of the previous games. In this version, players take the role of an iconic Star Wars villain and try to achieve their victory goal, just as the original game mechanic.
The differences between this and the original version, and the reason why they cannot be combined, is the Star Wars based mechanics. This new version introduces:
- Vehicles like transports and starfighters.
- A new ambition system to power the villains special abilities.
These new additions to the game mechanics transforms the game into a more tactical and slightly complex experience.

Expansions guide to Villainous Board Games
Depending on the theme of the expansion, it will be compatible with certain board games and not others. The Marvel and Star Wars expansions are not compatible with the original board games, nor the simplified version. Likewise, expansions for the original game and the simplified versions are not compatible with the spin-off games.
