From Introduction: The Selene faces a dire threat to its existence and that of all human life on-board; the captain gives the order to evacuate. Earth: either the jewel in humanity’s crown or a cesspool we were glad to crawl out of, it all depends on who you’re asking. Whatever the case, millions of people come back to the home-planet every year; for some, it’s just another stop on the journey, for others it’s a pilgrimage to a world that only exists as a legend for them. The Solar System is the most populated place in the galaxy: there’s more life gathered here than in the rest of the known universe put together. It makes everybody who wasn’t raised here feel like a hick-tourist from the boondocks. It’s a shame that some of us came all this way and won’t ever get to see it.
