From the Introduction: The rocky plain with myriads of sparkling crystals jutting from its ground is truly a sight to behold. Especially at night when the crystals slight glow becomes most evident the field is downright enchanting. Still people shun the plain and countless rumours circulate in the villages bordering it. One of them says that the plain is an old battlefield and the crystals grow from the blood of the restless dead buried in its ground. Some stories go even so far to claim that restless spirits control the growth of the crystals, and that these crystals can break through the ground at a moments notice to impale unwary travellers. Still other rumours claim that the plants growing among the crystals are malicious and man eating botanical horrors.
