In the valley of Ul-Kara, at a narrowing of the River Chelm, sits the town of Chelmsford, mostly known for its fine ales, ciders, and beers, but also for the Abbey of Keshval, Mother of Waters, Pourer of Life. The Abbey is mostly known for its fine clay pouring vessels, fired in exotic colors, known far and wide as the sturdiest jugs in the land. For years the Abbey and the city lived in harmony, with pottery coming down the hill to be filled with cider and beer, but recently, something has gone wrong in the valley, and no one has come down from the Abbey in weeks. The Kein brewery is running out of jugs, and people in the village have started to disappear: most recently, the son of Hiram Kein himself, who’s mad with fear and offering high sums for anyone who can bring him and the enforcer he sent after him home.
