ENIGMAS are themed on a fascinating historical place -- a mysterious estate outside of Chicago called Riverbank. Over one hundred years ago, the scientists at Riverbank worked on cryptography projects: the estate was filled with secret messages and codes. And exotic animals like alligators, peacocks, monkeys and bears roamed the property! Illustrator Billy French has masterfully captured all of these bizarre and beautiful elements into the ENIGMAS design. The card backs are adorned with historically accurate imagery from the Riverbank estate, like its windmill and lighthouse. Owls, representing wisdom and learning, are perched on the bookshelves, guarding its secrets.
