From the introduction: Act IV opens approximately one year after the characters left Tiarazan and saved it from chaos and madness. The PCs have pursued other adventures, undertaken quests elsewhere, and generally put the incident with Ishvani Tzekes and the King in Yellow behind them. A few scars — both physical and spiritual — remain from their battle, but the characters have continued their careers.
