Description

Zombeja! Ovella! is Finnish language storytelling boardgame for 3-6 players, One game takes about 30 minutes per player. Like in most traditional roleplaying games each session starts with creation of character concept. Zombeja! Ovella! utilizes "charactersticks", short wooden sticks with different qualities like personality types and generalizations printed on them to create instant stereotypes suited for genre. Game combines competitive and co-operative play elements in storytelling to produce a structured roleplaying exercise that simulates thematic elements of survival horror movies. Players have to create conflict of interest to eliminate other players and to advance their own position on the board. Co-operation of others is required to survive but some need to be sacrificed. Originally a free mini-game with issue #8 of Finnish language roleplaying games magazine Roolipelaaja the game was released later packaged in VHS tape case to make it look indie zombie flick. Zombeja! Ovella! is predecessor to English language game Zombie Cinema which essentially streamlined version of it.
