It features a modular build-your-own-board system that can be different each time you play. You can even combine it with other Game Decks releases like the Mutant Mudds set. There are three options to choose from. A Standard Edition, a Special Edition and a Gold Edition. The Standard & Special Editions come with the "Standard" version of the game (orange bar across top of box), whereas the Gold Edition comes with the "Gold" version of the game (gold foil across the top of the box). The Special & Gold Editions come with additional items not included with the Standard Edition (such as a graphic novel, CD, art cards, etc.). Designed for 2-4 players, the Yooka-Laylee board game uses a deck of cards to create a unique modular board. Players work alongside Yooka and Laylee to move around the board, using quills to buy Glide, Reptile Roll and Honey Puddle powerups to get an edge over their opponents. Points can also be earned by beating the challenges posed by The Ghost Writers. The board is covered in hand-painted by art that includes other characters, such as Blasto, Kartos, and Towzer.
