From the introduction: Under the rule of Runelord Alaznist, the Thassilonian nation of Bakrakhan waged continuous warfare with neighboring Shalast. Numerous research facilities across Bakrakhan were dedicated to producing stronger weapons and living soldiers to fuel the conflict.
