Description

From publisher blurb: Use the highest order of good beings in character development, worldbuilding, and adventures! Divine beings don’t get the attention they deserve in fantasy roleplaying games. They should somehow play a larger role than they do in the cosmology of our favorite fictional universes, given that they are the extraplanar exemplars of all that is right and good in the multiverse. As with many other categories of creatures in combat-focused systems, I suspect that they remain out of the spotlight because it’s hard to justify fighting them. They’re not monsters, and there are usually in-game repercussions to throwing down on angels, unicorns, and the like. One way to fix that is to incorporate celestials into the worldbuilding. Deities are a reality in many fantasy worlds, and these beings are their intermediaries. Throughout history, celestials have appeared to warm people of impeding disasters, to espouse opinions on wars, and the deliver bits of prophecy. They might even show up to actually help the well-intentioned mortals who share their moral and ethical views. If demons and devils interfere and try to skew the world toward evil, why would the celestials not take an active role in promoting the power of good? In this book, we’ll show you how to utilize these virtuous outsiders in your worldbuilding endeavors. You’ll see how they can influence character, setting, and story elements. By the end, you’ll understand how to make celestials into an essential, useful, and entertaining part of your campaign.
