In this game, the players portray characters who are descended from the ancient guardians of the lands and trees; they share characteristics of people and of plants. Their goal is to protect the Wild Spaces that remain in the world. They are not human enough to do this as political operatives, although some may feed information to humans who are sympathetic to the cause. For the most part, the Flora, as they call themselves, are creatures of action. They work directly in wild spaces to protect them from developers, men, and even other forces which might change them. The lore of the Flora says that if too many of the wild spaces are destroyed, it will bring an end to all life on Earth as it is currently known. They believe that Gaia, which is what they call Earth, will survive but change just as it did when the dinosaurs became extinct. This will also likely mean the extinction of the Flora, though they believe a new form of Flora will protect Next Gaia.
