From the introduction: The [Wild Child] class was heavily inspired by N of Pokémon Black and White, who holds the distinction of being the first trainer in a main game who doesn't use Pokéballs. It also takes inspiration from other figures in the Pokémon world such as Tommy (the Kangaskhan Kid), Hareta (Diamond & Pearl Adventures manga) or Ash (for the Wanderer class); and figures from outside of the Pokémon world such as Final Fantasy IV's Gau. Even from the fandom – the Genetic advanced class was inspired by “Gijinka”, artwork of humans styled similarly to Pokémon.
