Where Fools Dare to Tread

From publisher blurb: Horror and Conspiracy Free-Style Role-Play, where a group of psychic detectives are keeping the world safe from netherlings. Great for Halloween play or for a dedicated group of the truly weird. Play with a neutral Ref. Advancement of levels with Ignoble system of nine tasks. Advantage phase and Responsive phase combat system. Character background generator weaving thirty years of cold war global melt down with conspiracy theory into playable backgrounds for the characters. Quick & Dirty combat for monstrous opponents. Complete rules as published inside Space Gamer magazine in 1993. Very tight system with mechanics designed to make your players fear for the lives of their characters, not through massive damage but by specific vulnerabilities. System of buzzwords become serious penalties but only against certain horrors. The type of demonic host the players face is always uncertain and helps generate a mystery and anxiety inside of play. Best integration of game mechanics into horror ever. Includes the scenario, I Must Die, from the same Space Gamer issue with cover art by John E. Holland.
