Description

The purpose of this 'Wargaming in History' series is to offer, in detail, hints, tips, and advice on specific periods and wars that are wargaming favourites. All the necessary information, - campaigns, battles, weapons, tactics, etc. - is included and the books are illustrated with tactical diagrams, maps, contemporary illustrations and photo¬graphs. Waterloo. The end of Napoleon and the end of an era, was actually a series of involved attacks and counter thrusts in mid-June of 1815. All the intriguing subterfuges, night marches, treachery, command decisions, strategies, and tactics that transformed a tiny part of Belgium into a household word for decisive warfare are brilliantly described, with special attention given to meticulous mapping of the flow of armies in combat. A sensible sets of rules for engagement, including movement, infantry battles, and when, by chance or skill, a depleted force must be removed from the firestorm and acrid smoke of battle.
