Though their purses overflow with gold and jewels, their eyes gleam with avarice for the ultimate prize—and one of their number has taken matters into their own hands, slipping a deadly poison into their companions’ tankards. At the end of the evening, after the last tale is told, only one treasure-seeker will draw breath, sliding past the slumped forms of their erstwhile companions with the ultimate reward in hand.
