From the introduction: Welcome to Vanguard d100, a tabletop roleplaying game (RPG) where the players take the control of the protagonists in a story created alongside a Game Master (GM), who works as the narrator, arbiter, controller for the rest of the world. It is a game of imagination, where each player directs the actions of his or her character and its interactions with the other characters. Vanguard d100 consists of a series of neutral and impartial game mechanics and rules that can be used in any medieval setting, with a fantasy element or an historic one. It can even be an entirely new world or one that already exists in other games, books or movies. This game focuses on giving players an enormous freedom when creating and developing their characters, right from the start, allowing them to mix character roles and even create their own spells!
