After ages of slumber, a small cadre of vampires wake into a world of technology and splendor, unaware of what has happened to the world, but hungry nonetheless. Upir Gaunt places vampires at the crossroads where they are nothing more than anachronistic voyeurs in a world where humanity is so banal and listless that the “food is bland.” Will they work with one another to survive, or turn on one another for shallow power? The Protocol game series uses vignettes, interrogations, interludes, and ensembles to tell a story. Each story explores disparate characters dealing with adversity and isolation in a dramatic fashion. Each game is a zero-prep game for 3 or more players. The game length is exponentially long, so games with more players take more time to complete. You may try playing with only 2 players, but interludes and ensembles (page 4) are pretty much the same at that point.
