I've been playing with formatting villages for easy reference and to develop a few random things on the fly. With Thurber Village you'll get the map, key people within, descriptions of important locations, folklore of the area, list of names, and some of the more recent happenings. But what makes the village really come to life are the random tables. It provides life and movement, and the ability to generate plot hooks. I also added a random merchant that could wander through the village. I find rolling twice on the table help generate an array of interesting situations for the party to encounter. That is how I generated the Recent Happenings. I hope you find Thurber useful.
