Description

The Royal Thai Army: History, Organisation and Insurrection 2000 to 2014 covers the area of instability, protests and coup's as well as the ongoing (and continuing) Southern Insurgency (where the RTA and RTP are fighting the Islamic separatists and IS). This book works for 6mm, 15mm and 20mm (1:72) scales and any combination thereof and is ideally for COLD WAR3! Set of rules but is compatible with any of the popular 15mm tabletop rules such as TY and FoW and any titles produced by Dean Wilson. This book covers the organisation of the Royal Thai Army, including all of their equipment (from M48a3 tanks through to the modern T80u's from Ukraine), Humvee's and Honda Pick-Up trucks as well as artillery such as the 105mm Field Howitzer, M-109a1 Paladin and the ubiquitous 81mm mortar! All major Thai units such as the Thahan Phranh (Rangers), the Cavalry and the Armoured units are included as well as weapons from the AK-47 right through to the newly acquired Tavor though the M16 and G3 rifles. The Royal Thai Police, including the Naresuan-261 (HRT unit), the PARU (SWAT), Border Police and the RTP Special Branch -including their equipment such as UH-1D helicopters, Unimog trucks, pick-up trucks, Tactical vehicles, and all light weapons from the AK through to the M16 and M203 grenade launcher. The Southern Insurgents are included with their diverse equipment such as 122mm rockets, 120mm mortars, road side bombs, person borne bombs, assault teams and so on. Two 'drug dealing' armies are included, the LAO Drug Barons and the Burmese Drug barons -so you can play interdiction missions along the Thai borders where Border Police, Army rangers and any units in-between interdict and fight it out with heavily armed drug lords and their private militias. There is also a comprehensive army list for protesting factions (of either the red or yellowshirt variety and any hue in between such as white, lilac, pink or even rainbow coloured!) including taxies, LPG Gas Tankers, protesters, agitators, grenade units, medics, civilians and armed sections. A comprehensive rules section covers drones, tyre fires, taxies (used to blockade routes) army riot squads and police riot squads, engineers, roadside bombs and all wepaons in-between! A campaign and scenario section is included as well as a detailed look at how to asemble and paint a RTP and RTA force. A very detailed history section detailing the various protests, the ongoing insurgency in southern Thailand as well as the history and organisation of the Royal Thai Army and Police is also included. —description from the publisher
