The Red Pope

From publisher blurb: “In the Black Monk’s stead, I grant thee absolution. Go forth into the darkness and summon your cravings no more.” The Red Pope is the sometimes objective voice of the Black Monk, in moments where the Black Monk’s voice is absent. He has no actual power, but he exploits the others’ fears nonetheless. He holds convocation, midnight vigils, prayer circles, and sacred rites in an abandoned abbey next to the monastery. And he prays. By the gods, how he prays.
