The Professor is defined by their ability to support the party via Treatises - manuals and essays written by the professor and given to other members of their party which the recipient can then read and gain long-term buffs - and their extreme skill with ability checks. They get a large amount of Expertises, and have the unique trait of learning new skills as they level up through class features. They may also function as healers, and as they do not use magic, their abilities are not suppressed by abilities which confound mages and clerics. They may not pack much of a punch in combat, but they more than make up for it by acting as the backbone of the party, eventually giving everyone a permanant ability score increase at level 20!
