The Occurrence

From publisher blurb: A monster attack almost overpowered the whole gang of Kids! Then one of them got lucky and broke free! Then they were able to quickly defeat the monster — all before authorities and their parents showed up! When they finally get to them, their parents are just happy they found them, and declare that they’re headed to the pizzeria for dinner all together! At the pizzeria, the owner says some family canceled a birthday party, so everyone can have all-you-can-eat pizza, cake, and soda for free! Even the video games are free! Could today be more perfect! Now you just gotta get home and read tonight's reading homework, “An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge” by Ambrose Bierce.
