The Grim Reaper

From the publisher: The Grim Reaper, Thanatos - there are many names for the personification of death. Typically appearing in a black robe and wielding a scythe, the Grim Reaper's job is to escort the souls of the deceased to the afterlife, where it hands them over to Charon for passage across the river Styx. However, the black robe and scythe are not its only appearance - it is believed that the Grim Reaper looks like whatever the viewer expects it to.
