Description

Wuxia Role-Playing in Mythic China From the introduction: The Dragon Pool is a role-playing game based on stories, films, and comic books of Chinese fantasy. Sometimes this genre is called Wuxia (although there is some conflicting arguments as to what truly makes up a Wuxia story). This game also contains a fair amount of Chinese history and Chinese mythology. In this game you’ll take on the persona of a warrior, scholar, or, perhaps, Buddhist monk, or Taoist wizard. You will take your alter-ego through a world of adventure where martial artists battle for the attentions of the emperor, where commoners seek justice in a world ruled by a cruel nobility, and where arcane mystery hides behind every corner. In this book you will find all the rules you need to play The Dragon Pool. Along with this book you will need a number of things: dice (a set or two of polyhedral dice – four-sided, six-sided, eight-sided, ten-sided, twelve-sided, and twenty-sided), paper and pens, and a set of the various cards for this game. The Dragon Pool uses cards to represent actions, martial arts styles, character conditions, and special abilities. While the game can be played without these cards, they are designed to ease play and allow the game to move quickly.
