The Deadlight Cradle

Publisher's blurb: Gasping and gurgling, you emerge from the pool of blood and find yourself . . . crawling out of a blood pond in the middle of a bramble forest? Standing up, covered in muck, you get a better look at your surroundings. Indeed, this forest is made up completely of thorny brambles . . . but not like any brambles you’ve seen before. All of these trees and brambles appear to be bleeding from beneath the bark. Oddest of all is the skull sitting on a stone altar with a candle atop it. Stepping forward, you find a box of matches and use one to light the candle. As you do, the skull’s eyes glow.
