The Black King

From publisher blurb: The Black King is a fable, a myth, a story that communities and Drifters throughout the Sea of Leaves tell around the campfire when the night is dark. Stories vary – the Black King is a man, a child or a woman. The Black King is dangerous, impassive or even in rare cases helpful. The only thread that ties these stories together is that in every case despite these differing descriptions everyone agrees that the Black King is a single entity, one being, not a collective or group of beings, and in fact in the minds of everyone who encounters the entity is the sure knowledge that it is the Black King, although how they know this is a deeper mystery. Nearly all Drifters who have spent time near the Deeps and have heard the strongest pull of the Call have a story of the Black King, as if the Call itself somehow insinuates a fable of the King into the subconscious of those that travel the deeper and wilder parts of the forest. The Black King is a mini-supplement for Summerland 2nd edition, the roleplaying game of Desolation and redemption within the Sea of Leaves.
