The Ancient Door

From publisher blurb: The team and the caravan they travel with reaches Kijiji village where they will pay a captain to take them across the lake of Ziwa. But across the vast lake, three figurines have been stolen and they are not welcome unless they bring back the stolen items, which they claim are in Kijiji. Once they are found the team set sails across when someone insists they should visit the Drowned Temple. Once there, the figurines turn out to have powers.
