The Abyssals

Campaign corebook for playing the Deathlords in Exalted, first edition. Back Cover: Before there was a World of Darkness, there was an age of savage adventure. The Realm of the Dragon-Blooded is an usurper kingdom, founded on stolen glories and a false religion. The Scarlet Empire denies the ancestors their due honors while glorifying the Terrestrials as living divinities. For generations, the Deathlords have waited, gathering power, held back from dark vengeance only by the ancient weapons of the Realm. Now, the Empress is gone, and the Dragon-Blooded are weak and divided. The empire is in turmoil, and the Immaculate Philosophy’s hold on the populace is collapsing all across the Threshold. In the shadow of this great storm, the lords of the Underworld have chosen to reveal their true might. Even now, they send forth their deathknight champions to spread the word of the ancestor cult and bring the mortal world to worshipful heel. As an Abyssal Exalted, you are a slave of the ultimate darkness and a champion of the cult of the dead. Will you struggle against your dark fate or march at the head of your Deathlord’s armies, spreading terror and reverence of death among the living? What legends will they whisper of your dark deeds? Requires the Exalted main rulebook for play.
