User Summary: In a departure of his normal side-scrolling platformer affairs, Mario takes center stage in a role-playing/adventure hybrid game for the first time. While Bowser is trying to abduct the princess yet again, the Mushroom Kingdom is sent into a tail-spin when the Smithy Gang shows up and takes over Bowser's castle. Mario travels through towns, churches, mining villages, towers, and even underwater picking up coins, fighting baddies, and gaining friends (and even foes) in the fight against Smithy. The battle system incorporates turn-based menus with a button-press timing mechanic that keeps you involved in every battle you face.
