Each player chooses a character and must fight to the death using cards as special techniques. The player who wins 2 rounds by reducing the opponent's life to 0 is the winner. To use an attack card or special move, you must pay the cost with your controller cards. The opponent can counter those attacks by blocking or using instant cards on the opponent's turn.
