[User Summary] Star Ocean is a science-fiction RPG developed by tri-Ace and published by Enix for the Super Famicom. It was only released in Japan, but fan-made English translations have emerged in recent years. A remake for the PSP, entitled Star Ocean: First Departure, was released in the United States on October 21, 2008, and in Europe on October 24, 2008. The protagonist in Star Ocean is Ratix Farrence, a member of the Kratus Defense Force, which defends the town of Kratus. When a virus plagues a nearby town, Ratix and others go to search for a cure.
