From the introduction: In 2004 a group of dedicated LARPers developed a system unlike any ever played in the Pacific Northwest. Their goal was to create a game that concentrated on the unique interactions between characters in a horror fantasy genre; a game that belonged to its players. That game, Mortal Tears, ran from October ‘04 until December ‘09, and has been viewed by its players as a groundbreaking experience. When the organization announced the end of its run, the community took over the reins and created Shadow Accord to continue the saga of Ushaw Moor and its inhabitants— in recognition of the hard work, dedication, and creativity of the organizers and players of Mortal Tears.
