From the Introduction: This supplement defines a new system of Secondary Skills for player and non-player characters for use with the Basic Fantasy Role-Playing Game rules. Any additional skills from a character's background are considered secondary skills. These are skills that the character has from before their adventuring lives or skills that could be considered part of their character class. It is a method to flesh out a character and make them more unique.
