User summary: Characters in Scorch are defined by Aspects (Engineer, Mechanic, Scavenger, and Wrecker) and Traits (Intelligence, Agility, Strength, Charisma, Perception, Endurance, Impair, and Luck). Aspects have an assigned numeric value from 1 to 3 that determine a dice pool for the Aspect. Action resolution uses the appropriate dice pool with some results counting as successes. The game master determines how many successes are required for a given action based on its complexity or difficulty. Characters also can possess "Sketches", a technological skill, trick, trait, or advantage, that yield bonus dice to certain actions.
