User summary: In Salty Sea Dogs! character creation involves only selecting a single Trait that the character (a pirate) is especially good at. Any action attempted that involves that trait is easier to succeed at. Action resolution involves the player playing two cards against the Captain (game master) playing three cards; the player must beat only one of the Captain's cards, depending on the task difficulty.
