Description

Publisher's blurb: Find it hard to believe that the equipment still in use after the nuclear exchange is (maybe worn) first rate pre-war stuff? The Russians never threw away anything -- or not right away -- and a lot of WW2 and 1950's stuff that had been long out of service even in Category III (Reserve) Divisions was held in storage and was intended to be used to activate follow on units after the Category III ones marched off to the Front. Thse are (unofficially) Category IV (Wartime Mobilisation Only) Divisions and this is where you can find data listings for the smallarms and vehicles they could reasonably (or even unreasonably) be expected to end up being equipped with - Nagant Revolvers, Moisin-Nagant Rifles, PPSh and PPS SMGs, SVT Automatic Rifles, DP-27 Light Machineguns and assorted WW2 era Mortars, AA and AT Guns and light Artillery. T-34/85 Tanks, BTR-40 Scout Cars, BTR-152 APCs ... and many more weapons and vehicles Also included are Lend Lease (and generally non-Soviet) gear such as the M4a4(76)W Sherman, M3/M5 Halftrack, M1928 Thomson SMG, Bren LMG. Additional rules are provided for those who believe that Tanks should have Turrets treated separately as in previous generations of the rules and modifications for dealing with weaknesses in Obsolete Armour vs Modern Weapons (and Obsolete Weapons vs Modern Armour) and other factors, including more realistic Maintenance Rules, especially for notoriously poorly designed Soviet vehicles.
