River of Dread

The border city of Dusk stands as a great sentinel, watching over the boundary river separating the Western Realms from the tyrannical city-states of the east. Indeed, many a conflict has happened here over the past hundred years as the city-state of Dactyl, which serves as a staging point for invasions to the west, continually strives to find new ways to assault the border bridge crossing the great river. In all this time, Dusk, under the protection of a highly-trained Town Guard, has never fallen to a foreign power, always repelling even the most determined of attacks. Such an attack is in the wind, however, and while an account of that battle has already been covered extensively in a previously-released tome on the subject, which outlined the hidden enemy base at Eastwood Ridge, the capture of the border bridge as well as the massive assault on the city's northern walls, there is another tale which is yet untold. Indeed, another force had also approached Dusk from the south, led by an undead General who sought to reinforce those at Eastwood Ridge before the battle for Dusk began. This small army was made up predominately of orcs, dark elves, and some humans, all loyal servicemen to the city-state of Dactyl. This is their story, which begins far south of the city of Dusk alongside the great border river, where a structure is currently being raised so that the army may cross into the mountains...
