From the introduction: The people in your town are slowly being replaced with copies of their human selves. These Replacements are not violent or physically aggressive. And while they may look exactly like the human that they’ve replaced, their vocal patterns, or tone of voice, or just the way they carry themselves, is not right. They retain all the memories of the human they’ve replaced, but are also aware that they have an ulterior motive with regards to replacing all humans.
