Description

Princess of Seasons is a may-follow trick taking game similar to Napoleon but with a few wrinkles thrown in. The theme is that there is a Kingdom of Seasons that controls the seasons, but mischievous fairies threaten to disrupt them. One player (and an helper) will play as the Kingdom of Seasons and the rest as the mischievous fairies. You go around bidding to decide the Princess of Seasons player. You bid the number of Picture Cards you will take (Maximum of 18) and name the Trump Season, this effects the hierarchy of rank. If Spring (3, 4, and 5) are chosen, the ranking of number cards is 5>4>3>2>1>12>...>8>7>6. Once the princess has been decided, they name a specific card and the player that possesses that card joins the Princess team secretly (it is possible to name a card you have or in the kitty so as to be alone). Then a may-follow trick taking hand occurs. If the princess team meets or exceeds their bet of acquired cards, they win and points are tallied. There are 4 fairy cards that beat all number cards,1 princess card that forces fairy cards to be played (and wins a hand), and a mischievous fairy card that removes a card from play.
