The device was no help; apparently, it hadn’t updated yet. He decided to ask directions of one of the natives and selected a two-meter tall fellow in what seemed to be a uniform. “Excusez-moi monsieur,” he started, then stopped short as the being looked at him quizzically. He quickly repeated the phrase in Interstellar Common, then as best he could, asked directions to the hostel. Even after all this time traveling, he marveled at the infinite shapes, sizes and types of the various species around him. The trip he took as a child overseas — that first kindled his wanderlust — was nothing compared to the wonders he saw and the people he met now.
