Game Info

Description

User Summary: A Japanese-style RPG that set the standard for console RPGs. Despite being only an 8-bit game, it had depth and graphics that would not be out-of-place amongst 16-bit successors. You begin the game as Alis, a young woman seeking to avenge her brother's killing. Set in the Algol Star System, the adventure spans many planets and encounters with diverse races and enemies. Along the way, you'll encounter 3 more companions to assist you in your quest. Odin is a warrior, Noah is an Esper (magic user), and Myau is a talking cat. Each character can equip various weapons/armor, use assorted items, and cast spells (many unique to the Phantasy Star universe.). The setting is a mix of futuristic cities surrounded by raw fantasy environments including forests, plains, deserts, and tundra. You adventure across the maps on foot, in a hovercraft, a drilling machine, and other vehicles. Throughout the game you will also explore 3D dungeons that scroll as you move from square to square. Combat consists of up to 8 enemies (only one of the type displayed on the screen) that move when they attack you.
