From the introduction: Paths of Power presents an alternative system for creating spell lists, allowing characters to experiment with unusual combinations of abilities, to specialize in particular fields, or to dabble in many. Each spellcaster will have spells related to their class, to their race and philosophical outlook, and to whatever magical fields they’ve studied.
