From the introduction: The three games in this collection grew out of different interests and odd turns taken by conversations with friends. Pilgrimage has multiple roots, ranging from The Canterbury Tales to a battered copy of James White’s Dream Millennium my parents picked up for me at a yard sale when I was a kid to chats with Johanna Haas about doodling and Silas de Marques Lima about games and therapy. Pine Grove owes its origins to Facebook and the radically different ways in which old friends remember our hometown. Saturday Knights is an ode to the attic in an old Victorian house where we played games when I was in high school, and the strange temptations and distractions that lurked beyond the game.
