(from the back of the book) The splendid markets and impressive buildings of the city of Malrhira are known far across the borders of Tharpura - and not at last also its wise ruler, the Satrap Thyrodatus. However, in the last Oktals a shadow has fallen on Malrhira: Heavily armed Pardir patrols tyrannise the population, and most friends and confidants of the Satrap have been incarcerated as traytors or vanished without a trace. Under these circumstances the famous fights take place, which are held in memory of the fall of a tyrant from old time. It requires some courage, but also clever heads and a strong sword arm to find out the background of this strange change - a splendid opportunity for foreign adventurers to make themselves a reputation ... or die by the attempt.
