His R&D specialists have created the “Nexus Node,” a device capable of seizing control of a facility’s computer, communication, and power systems. This device has significant weaknesses — it must be within 50 ft. of the target control systems, it requires substantial power, and it requires the facility’s command codes. All but one of these obstacles are easily overcome. As this serial begins, the Nexus Node has already been smuggled onto the International Space Station (ISS) and put in place. It siphons energy from the station, and once the correct command codes are transmitted, it will deliver the orbiting platform into the shadow cell’s hands, allowing the Master Intelligence to ransom it to its former controlling governments
