User Summary NIGHTMARE #6 was released by Apple Computer, Inc., in 1978 as a puzzle game running on their Apple ][ series of computers. The game provided its own instructions upon startup: "THE OBJECT OF THIS GAME IS TO FIGURE OUT THE OBJECT OF THIS GAME". Players could then type text at a prompt and lose or accumulate points; often the game would end in repeated beeping and text display of "NIGHTMARE #6".
