Editions of the lexicon have been reported for a wide range of languages. The linguistic components in the lexicon are dynamic, automatically being updated as words are added to the language. As a purely linguistic tool, the lexicon is a wondrous creation. This makes the lexicon an update-to-date reference for a single language. Any creature attempting to access the lexicon must be able to read the language unaided. If any attempt is made to use external means, such as a tongues spell to access the contents of the lexicon, the pages appear filled with meaningless runes.
