This German boxed edition of Middle-Earth Role Playing was printed one year after the English version of Middle-Earth Role Playing (1st Edition, Revised) and contains 196 pages as compared to the 128 pages or 104 pages of the earlier English versions. This appears to be a significant difference. This German version was called MERS which stood for "Mittlerde Rollen Spiel" (Translated: Middle-Earth Role-playing Game) and features cover artwork similar to Middle-Earth Role Playing (1st Edition, Revised). The game was packaged in a box rather than a soft cover or stapled format as were the earlier English language books.
