Historical fiction game placed in "age of sails". As a captain of small sail ship you enter uncharted waters, where from time to time some strange things happen. - Board of the game shows map of archipelago with the sea routes, players will use to move their ship between the islands. On top of it large weather panel is located, with the Beaufort scale, as the wind strongly affects ships and possible actions. - Players in their turn may move their ships, fight by using cannons or naval boarding, and perform some actions like building facilities, buying or repairing ships, selling goods and valuables found on islands or on the sea, hiring captains officers and sailors. Moving ships on the board is extremely simple, however depending on it you will be able to win or lose the game, as sometimes very important is to have your ship in right place on right time. - Just after landing on the island player uncover the Exploration Cards located there, which describe the adventures, encounters, events or items. You may find there good things (like pirate's treasures) and not so good ones (plagues,dark forces,strange creatures...). So better be prepare with full set of crew, and appropriate Action Cards in hand before you'll make your first step on the unknown ground. - Despite Misty Waters are uncharted, archipelago however is full of native life forms. Some are humans... players will have to face all the threats, but also other players as well. - Two trading Posts with Taverns are located on the islands. You may do some profitable deals here, gamble (also inviting other players !), meet "interesting" people, agree on some risky quests or missions, for which your cargo holds, passenger cabins, or your... cannons will be needed. Each player builds a deck of Actions Cards, which in fact is a set of useful tools like weapons, extra sails, maps, tricks, or experts, which may help with difficult situations, significantly affecting the chances for victory. As the number of Action Cards is limited - you have to choose them wisely, according to strategy you prefer to use. - As the game is dedicated for 1-4 players, and each may command up to two ships (6 different types), some spectacular naval battles are not the rare situations on Misty Waters. (Especially, when the Conquistadors' Galleass is leaving the harbour, fully loaded with gold and gems, and everyone wants to get it). You will use the the full broadsides, and naval boarding, to beat your enemies and take their cargo, or... their ships! - Besides the players' ships there is quite a big amount of the "AI" tokens on the board like Pirates' ships and Conquistadors' ones, sea monsters, gun batteries, rafts or floating barrels and crates. - There is several possibilities to win the game. Most of them is about to become a Governor of Misty Waters. You may achieve that either by: winning the elections, conquer certain amount of islands, capture legendary Treasure of Conquistadors or using a few other possibilities, depending on which scenario is actually triggered. - Players can choose a team-play against other team, play individually , or the solo mode.
